4. How much input do you require from us?

As a starting point we’ll arrange a face-to-face meeting or ask you to fill out a short questionnaire to help us understand the project requirements. From there you can have as much or as little input into the scripting, filming and editing as you’d like. In any case we’ll keep you informed at every step of the process.

For animation, we generally agree the key messages with you and then we work on a draft script and a suggested visual style for review. However we’re also happy to work from a full script or storyboard provided to us.

3. How large is your crew for filming?

This depends on the type of job. For simple talking heads interviews or case studies we can provide a ‘self-shooting’ videographer, who will work alone to capture all the necessary footage.

However our preference is for a two- or three-man crew, consisting of a producer/director to oversee the filming and conduct interviews, plus one or two camera operators to concentrate on the visual and technical aspects. This ensures the key messages of the video are covered more effectively. For more complex filming requirements we may also recommend extra crew members, such as additional camera operators, a sound recordist, or a drone operator. These will all be costed separately in our quote.

2. Help! This is our first video, how does video production work?

Video production is basically broken down into 3 basic steps:

Pre-production: Brandcore would first work with you to learn about your brand and your business needs, then work on defining what you would like the video to do for you. Some basic things we would define could be : Who is your target audience? Are there any KPIs you would like to hit with the video?

We would then propose a suitable platform, whether online or offline, traditional or social, and provide a detailed pitch on the video we would produce. Once you have approved our plans, we would start work. This might involve writing, logistics and planning, or even casting, if the production requires it.

Production: This would be when we start to involve the cameras, light and sound. Most people think of this step whenever they think about video production. Our team would handle everything that is involved with making your footage look and sound good, by capturing interviews, event footage or scenes described in a script. Post-production: This would be after filming has been done, and we would work on putting everything we have together, crafting a flow and adding graphics, titles and music where required. We would complete a draft for you to review and one more version with your feedback worked on before finally completing the project.

1. How much does video production cost?

We get this a lot, but before we go into the details on how much video production in Singapore costs, keep in mind that Brandcore begins with your brand in mind first. We start by working on answering how the video serves your brand before proposing the idea, so to ensure that our proposed production caters to your branding needs.

That said, what typically affects the cost of a video are:

  • Our involvement in planning and writing
  • Duration of time for filming, and number of people involved in the shoot
  • Our involvement in the casting process, if talents are involved
  • How complicated the video would be to edit, if there are animated elements involved
  • How many videos would we be producing

However, know that you do not have to answer these on your own. We are not your typical video production house in Singapore. We can help to assess what your needs are before coming up with a proposal.
